Kaushalaya Devi Scholarship

At Anekasha, we believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for underprivileged communities. That’s why we have created our flagship program, the Kaushalaya Devi Scholarship, to provide educational support to children from underprivileged communities. Kaushalaya Devi, Meena’s mother, raised eight girls as a single mother, after being widowed at an early age. While the 1960s and 1970s were characterized by tremendous cultural change around the globe, support for education, particularly when it came to girls, was still lacking in India. Kaushalaya Devi was unique in her determination to raise her children with strong values, and she instilled in them a desire for knowledge and self-sufficiency. Her legacy lives on in their success today, as well as through her namesake scholarship. We are grateful that her dreams for her daughters can also now be recognized by many other children in India. The scholarship program is designed to provide educational support at both the grade school and university levels, with additional support available for neurodiverse children. The application intake process for the scholarship program is simple and transparent. We accept applications from students who come from underprivileged backgrounds and who are committed to pursuing their education. To ensure that the aid is provided to those in real need, we conduct a thorough assessment of the applications, including household income and educational history. Once the applications are assessed, we select the most deserving candidates for the scholarship program. The scholarship covers a wide range of educational expenses, including tuition fees, books, and other educational materials. We also provide mentoring and support to the students to help them achieve their full potential.
